Non-Violent Communication Training Day at Friends Meeting House

June 16, 2012 from 10am to 5:30pm
Speak with peace, clarity and confidence in a world of conflict and confusion An opportunity to work in a group with Vajrasara Rankin, an accredited NVC trainer, exploring Compassionate Communication. We will be developing listening skills, deepening empathy and transforming blame. NVC, based on the work of Dr Marshall Rosenberg, brings the insight that with compassionate concern we can move beyond conflict and disconnection, by understanding criticism, resentment and moralistic judgements. Pilgrimage to my hero

I am so excited. I can barely contain it. Tomorrow I set off for adventures with my family - 3 weeks in the States. This is a once-in-a-lifetime holiday - contrasting greatly with the UK camping trips which are our norm. My husband is from America and there are some great landmarks of his homeland that we are all wanting to see - vast, majestic gifts of nature which I anticipate will be truly awesome i.e. actually inspiring awe, rather than being "quite good" I'm referring here to the overuse…See More

What does it mean to Be?

Why can we not Be without Meaning?

There is no Meaning; we construct our own.

We are together.

Our hearts beat, our blood coarses, we share the air,

Our atoms have traversed the universe for infinities.

We are alone.

My blood, my breath, my thoughts,

Entombed within the boundaries of biology.

I am everything.

My senses, my thoughts.

A (sort of) book review - The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 15:42 0 Comments

I read this book last month, having requested it for a Christmas gift. It came highly recommended to me by a fellow workshop attendee (on a Heart Intelligence workshop run by Gill Wyatt). I had a conversation with this man afterwards and we talked about a stumbling block in intimate relationships - how can we truly love others if we don't love ourselves? He had…

PS  yes, how we promote, yet keep personal, and use social media Blogs etc..  and do it in concious, heartful way is something I'm very happy to talk about.  This is actually something I often cover in the Work Support and Professional Coaching sessions I offer, (initial 20 min session is free, so let me know when you'd like to book one of those, if it would be useful at any point)

Yes, your Blog looks great.  I nearly went to Gill's workshop too.  looks like I missed a good one  -  kind of got that energy as I tuned into it.

As you say, what you wrote is pre written copied over from your blog. ( and  , yes, I find it lovely - inspiring - to read!)  What would also be great, is if you'd take a look at some of the suggestions in this CLICK HERE  And look at other peoples profiles, postings, etc and comment about how that touches you, in that moment, how what you see there inspires (challenges )  And, given your interest and perspective, what can you say to support, inspire 'sponsor' others to share their gift(s).  how's that sound?  love and warmth ~ Christoffer

Hello Amanda - Welcome to CCD.
I am Robert, one of the people who often checks in new members of CCD.

Christoffer, who began this network, will, no doubt, also leave you a message directing you to a certain page: for myself, I would like to direct you to another area.

Now you are a member, check out the 'getting started' menu above as this will give help on adding a profile photo and adding events - if you want to add events, read through the 'Adding an Event' information as there are requirements we ask for.

Also, read this blog I put up recently about CCD news as I touch on a variety of aspects of CCD: privacy, getting involved and more

I am now familiar with how this site works - and know it has is quirks too. Ning.com supply the software  - that we pay for each year through donations from members - it can take a bit of getting used to. Hope you find your way around.

All the best,
Robert
